General Interest

General
Argentina secured a spot for the 2020 Olympic Games by winning the 2020 South American Olympic Qualification Tournament held in Bogota, Colombia. They won all three of their matches at the event, defeating Colombia, Venezuela, and Peru to book their ticket for Tokyo.

The Argentinian team are competing at the Olympic Games for only the second time, having made their debut in 2016 in Rio de Janeiro. They won one of their group matches in 2016, beating Cameroon 3-2, but did not progress to the quarterfinals.

Argentina competed in the World Grand Prix each year between 2011 and 2017, but never finished higher than 14th. The team placed third at the 2019 Challenger Cup in Lima, Peru, which along with the Nations League, replaced the World Grand Prix in 2018.

Argentina have competed at the two most recent editions of the world championships, finishing 17th in 2014 and 19th in 2018.
