ANCHOR FAN
She enjoys the responsibility of swimming the anchor leg [final position] of a relay race. She anchored the German mixed 4x200m freestyle relay to victory at the 2018 European Championships in Glasgow, Scotland. "As the final swimmer you always have to have your nerves under control. That is one of my strengths. You have to be able to give everything in the relay, even if you're behind. Whoever swims first or last, can decide a race. I enjoy being the final swimmer, as I need to push my limits, and if I am the last swimmer, I know that there are three people on the pool deck firing me on. They want a medal as much as I do, and that really pushes you." (Stimmetv YouTube channel, 13 Jun 2019; swp.de, 06 Aug 2019)

FROM NATIONALS TO OLYMPIC GAMES
She competed at the 2012 Olympic Games in London before she had competed at another major international competition. "That was really crazy. I had never been to a world championships or a European championships. I went directly from the German nationals to competing at the [2012] Olympics. It was a bit overwhelming at first, but it was really cool to experience it." (regio-tv.de, 02 May 2019)
