General Interest

The Faroe Islands won all its Paralympic medals, including one gold, between 1988 and 2004. Christina Naess remains the NPC's only Paralympic champion after she won the C3 100m backstroke at the 1988 Games in Seoul, where she also won a silver in the C3-4 400m freestyle at the same event.

The athlete who has won the most medals for the Faroe Islands is swimmer Heidi Andreasen. She won three silver and two bronze medals at the 2000 and 2004 Games, and her bronze medal in the S8 400m freestyle at the 2004 Games remains the most recent medal won by a Faroe Islands athlete.

Krista Morkore was the only athlete to represent the NPC at the 2016 Paralympic Games. She swam freestyle events of various distances, with her best result being her 10th position in the S10 400m event.
