General Interest

General
COMPETING FOR SCOTLAND
She was born in the United States of America and grew up in Maryland but has decided to compete in athletics for Scotland and Great Britain. Her mother was born and raised in Dunfermline, Scotland and met her US father after moving to the United States of America to work for the British Embassy. "Scotland definitely does play a big role in who I am. I am half Scottish no matter if I grew up in the US or not and it was exciting to tell my Scottish family that I am going to compete for Scotland. I have Great Britain on my chest for those guys so they are happy. That side of my family isn't the most athletic. I think I get my athletics from my dad so they are just astonished, but I will also have better opportunities being able to run for Scotland over the US." (dunfermlinepress.com, 01 Jul 2021; bbc.co.uk, 24 Jun 2021; priceschool.usc.edu, 07 Jul 2020)

PLAYING AMERICAN FOOTBALL
Before she began competing in athletics, she took part in gymnastics and football and played as the kicker for the American football team at Bishop McNamara High School in Forestville, MD, United States of America. "The American football was for the men's team. The coach knew I played soccer and he saw me in the weights room. I used to power lift a lot and he asked me to try out. When I first started kicking, it wasn't the best, but I worked hard. In my senior year, my percentage for making the kicks was very high and I was the first female to play in our conference against the men." (bbc.co.uk, 24 Jun 2021)

FURTHER EDUCATION
Having studied historic preservation and conservation at Ursuline College in Pepper Pike, OH, United States of America, she then studied construction management at Kent State University in Ohio between 2017 and 2019 before starting a degree in real estate development at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles, CA, United States of America. She has also competed in athletics throughout her higher education studies. (LinkedIn profile, 29 Jun 2021; usctrojans.com, 01 Aug 2020)

FUTURE PLANS
After she has retired from competing in athletics she plans to invest in real estate or work with a developer in the construction industry. (priceschool.usc.edu, 07 Jul 2020)
