The British team narrowly missed out on a medal when the mixed 4x400m relay made its first appearance at the world championships in 2019. They finished in fourth place, 0.45s behind bronze medallists Bahrain.

Great Britain did not qualify for the final at the 2019 World Relays in Yokohama after recording the 12th fastest time in the heats. At the 2021 World Relays, however, they set the sixth-fastest time in the heats and went on to finish fifth in the final, just over a second outside the lower podium placings.
