Making its Olympic Winter Games debut, Kosovo was represented by one male athlete, Alpine skier Albin Tahiri. A dentist by profession, and born to an Albanian-Kosovo father and Slovenian mother, he competed in all five Alpine skiing events, with a best finish of 37th in the super combined.

OLYMPIC GAMES HISTORY
Kosovo made its Olympic debut at Rio 2016 with eight competitors in five sports.
Jukoka Majlinda Kelmendi, who represented Albania at London 2012, claimed the nation's first Olympic medal at Rio 2016, after winning gold in the women's 52kg against Odette Giuffrida (ITA). Kosovo won another two judo gold medals at Tokyo 2020 with Distria Krasniqi (women's 48kg) and Nora Gjakova (women's 57kg).
