General
CLUB FOUNDER
In 2012 he helped found the wheelchair rugby section at the CS Nuiton club in Nuits-Saint-Georges, France, nicknamed the Black Chairs. "There was no club in the Nuits-Saint-Georges area so my acquaintances and my club CS Nuiton all founded the Black Chairs. In some ways I was forced to if I wanted to play. I was 16 at the time and I was not yet independent enough to be too far from Nuits-Saint-Georges. Right now [2021] we have six players and only four can actually play. Able-bodied players can train but to compete at the national championship a player has to be classified by the International Wheelchair Rugby Federation. It is difficult to find people with such a degree of impairment because they either move to bigger, more accessible cities or decide not to leave home. It's also a struggle to fund a season as the chairs can cost between 5,000 and 8,000 Euros. I am coach alongside my father Dominique. This triple role demands a lot of work, but it is very interesting as I see everything from different angles. I have organised myself well and even have a little bit of personal time. I'm very happy." (bienpublic.com, 05 Apr 2016; sportmag.fr, 19 Feb 2021)
