General Interest

General
Great Britain qualified for the 2020 Paralympic Games through their performance at the 2019 Europe Zonal Championships. They made their Paralympic debut in 1968, and have competed at each edition of the Games since 1996.

The British team were ranked fourth at Rio 2016, which is their best result at the Paralympic Games. Qualifying from Group A in second place with three wins and one loss, they beat the People's Republic of China in the last eight before losing to the US team in the semifinals. They faced the Netherlands in the bronze medal match, with the Dutch running out 76-34 winners.

Great Britain have competed at seven of the eight editions of the world championship since 1990, and secured their first podium finish in 2018. Progressing from the preliminary round with four wins, as well as a defeat to the Netherlands, the British team beat the United States of America in the last eight and defeated Germany in the semifinals. Waiting for them in the final were the Dutch, who again proved too strong and ensured Great Britain had to settle for silver with a 56-40 victory.
