General Interest

COACHING EXPERIENCE
He has worked as a wheelchair basketball coach at club and international level in a number of different countries, including Italy, Spain, Australia, Brazil and Canada. "I found Australia and Canada to be more similar in the scientific support and they are advanced in respect of Italy and Brazil. Recently, Brazil and Italy started implementing more of the scientific part too." He also feels that Brazil and Italy have the more competitive leagues. "The athletes are playing every weekend and for that reason are more used to being under pressure. Australia compensated by having the players competing in Europe in the different leagues, while Canada has very few athletes doing that." (torontoobserver.ca, 30 Apr 2020; LinkedIn profile, 01 Jan 2020; wheelchairbasketball.ca, 01 Sep 2019)

FURTHER EDUCATION
In 2008 he graduated with a master's degree in Para sports coaching from Roma Tre University in Italy. (LinkedIn profile, 01 Jan 2020)

COACHING BADGES

INTRODUCTION TO THE SPORT
He was introduced to wheelchair basketball by a friend, who was coaching a team in the fourth tier of the Italian league system at the time. He was curious about the sport and was inspired to pursue a coaching career. (wheelchairbasketball.ca, 01 Sep 2019)
