General
WHEELCHAIR FENCING
She began her international Para sports career as a wheelchair fencer because taking up wheelchair basketball. "The attraction of fencing is that it is an individual sport. You are on your own and if you have a bad day, you have to get out of it by yourself. You have to work your way up again, by yourself. The special thing about basketball is that it is a team sport. You win together and lose together. That makes you work much harder. In a team sport you have teammates who can build you up, which you don't have in an individual sport." (Jugendnetz Baden-Wurttemberg YouTube channel, 01 Mar 2011)
