"I have no feeling in my arms or legs so I constantly feel the pins and needles. I'm heat intolerant so a hot day then results in my arms and legs not working. I have trouble with balance, I have trouble with coordination, so I can't run but I can walk." (womenshealth.com.au, 27 May 2019; smh.com.au, 30 Sep 2018)

BATTLING MS
She was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis at age 25, and says sport has helped her to deal with her condition. "I was told that without treatment, I would be in a wheelchair within five years, a vegetable within 10 and to go home and make myself comfortable and not to expect to live past the age of 40. Competing at such a high level for me is not about the tournaments or the number of medals I win. It is my way of overcoming the battle I have with MS." (womenshealth.com.au, 27 May 2019)
