Origin of Impairment
Congenital (asf.org.au, 25 Jan 2020)

Impairment Details
He was born with an upper limb deficiency. "I've never seen it as a disability, nor have my family, friends and anyone around me. And if in any case I wasn't included, I would include myself. When growing up if there were kids kicking the footy I would go up to them and join in with the mindset that I may be not be able to mark the ball but I can kick it, and I can probably kick it better than you. I've always been heavily involved in sports. I see that as being something that breaks down barriers between myself and the able-bodied." (asf.org.au, 25 Jan 2020; sportinclusionaustralia.org.au, 23 Nov 2016; 1116 SEN podcast, 13 Nov 2016; starcommunity.com.au, 16 Jul 2013)

General
HANDEDNESS
He began playing left-handed after suffering a right arm fracture. "[I] originally started playing table tennis right-handed, broke my arm and swapped hands to continue playing and never went back." (cdn.revolutionise.com.au, 01 Jan 2018)

SOFTBALL
He and his family have been involved in softball. He played the sport at U18 level for the Pirates club in Werribee, VIC, Australia, and has coached softball to children on behalf of the Werribee Softball Association. "My mum has been involved in softball most of her life. The best thing about softball for me is that my whole family are involved. On the field I look to my left, there is my brother Michael, I look to my right, there is my brother Stephen. There is a real sense of belonging, being involved at the club has been fantastic for me, and everyone is very supportive and have allowed me to experience all aspects of the sport. I've been adapting things my whole life through sport and other areas of my life from the way I brush my teeth to the way I pitch a softball, so coaching and adapting styles and techniques really interests me." (sportinclusionaustralia.org.au, 23 Nov 2016; 1116 SEN podcast, 13 Nov 2016; vic.softball.org.au, 26 Oct 2016)
