He believes that members of the Bosnia and Herzegovina national sitting volleyball team have a special relationship due to most of them sustaining injuries as a result of the Bosnian War between 1992 and 1995. "We know what we had to go through and that makes us stronger and holds us together, even though that might seem strange to some people. It gives us strength as a team."
