He guided the Japanese women's sitting volleyball team to their first participation at the Paralympic Games, where they finished eighth at the 2008 Games in Beijing. He was also head coach of the women's team that ranked seventh at the 2012 Paralympic Games in London. He joined the coaching staff at the Japan Para Volleyball Association in 1998. He took up the role of assistant coach of the Japanese men's sitting volleyball team in 1998, and later served as head coach of the team between 2000 and 2007. He was head coach of both the Japanese men's and women's sitting volleyball teams between 2004 and 2007, before deciding to focus on the women's team in 2007.
