Impairment Details
In 2000 she was diagnosed with scleroderma, a rare autoimmune condition. "In October 1998 I started having strange health problems. I was struggling to train, I had swollen hands. Inexplicably, I didn't feel as fit as I had always been. I underwent medical checks, tests, visits, but they all failed. So I continued training without giving too much weight to these sensations. The situation, however, at a certain point worsened dramatically. I could no longer even touch the ball because of the pain I had in my hands.
