He started playing volleyball while in primary school, and competed in city and regional competitions. After losing his leg he did not want to play sport at first, but changed his mind after meeting the captain of a sitting volleyball team while in hospital. He was inspired to join the AVS Rodnik team and progressed to compete at national level. "Here everyone is equal. You are happy about living, about your victories.
