RETIREMENT THOUGHTS
She considered retiring after the 2020 Paralympic Games in Tokyo, but after the Games were postponed into 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, she says she will aim to compete at the 2024 Games in Paris. "When Canada announced they weren't sending a team [to the 2020 Games in Tokyo, before the postponement was announced], it was heart-breaking at first because this very well could have been my last chance at a medal, my last chance of representing Canada, while understanding fully why the Canadian team backed out. When I end my athletic career I want it to be on my own terms, not being forced out. I think the chances of me staying on until Paris are very likely now that the [Paralympic cycle] will be a lot shorter." (saltwire.com, 24 Jun 2021)
