CHANGE OF SPORT
He spent 14 years competing in Para athletics before changing to Para football 5-a-side. "There came a point when I found it difficult to combine work, my personal life and high-level competition. I also had to change my guide every so often for a number of reasons and that made me wonder whether athletics was a sport for my future life. I decided to give Para football a chance and I don't regret it. True, I did not have the technique to drive the ball, but I did have the orientation, the ability to run without fear and defend without the fear of crashing. All that experience has been very valuable. And I have made friends within the group. Switching sports, especially to a team sport, has made me enjoy competing again."
