INTERNATIONAL DEBUT
He had played international Para football 5-a-side matches before the International Blind Sports Federation [IBSA] began sanctioning tournaments in 1997. "My debut with the national team was in 1985 at a tournament in Rome, Italy, when I was 15 and still in secondary school. I have played on 7-a-side football fields, fields without fences, with rubber balls, with ducks on top of the goals that guided us with their quack-quack sound, with goalkeepers who were partially blind. I have experienced all that." (marca.com, 08 Jun 2018; publico.es, 26 May 2018)
