General Interest
Uganda made its Paralympic debut at the 1972 Games in Heidelberg, sending a delegation of two athletes to compete in athletics events.
Uganda won its first Paralympic medal at the 2016 Games in Rio de Janeiro, where David Emong claimed silver in the men's T46 1500m. Rio was Emong's second appearance at the Games, following his fourth-place finish in the same event four years earlier in London.
