Highlights:

Thailand has sent a delegation of athletes to each edition of the Paralympic Games since 1984. The NPC won its first medal at the 1988 Games in Seoul, where Sakul Kumtan claimed silver in javelin throw.

Prawat Wahoram has secured 15 podium finishes in athletics at the Paralympic Games, including seven gold medals. He claimed two gold medals at the 2000 Games in Sydney, winning the T54 5000m and T54 10,000m titles. He won two relay gold medals at the 2004 Games, before again claiming gold in the T54 5000m in Beijing in 2008. He secured his third title in the T54 5000m at Rio 2016, as well as gold in the T54 1500m in what was his fifth appearance at the Paralympic Games.

In wheelchair fencing Saysunee Jana has collected at least one medal at the past four Paralympic Games, winning the women's class B epee in 2004 and 2012. She was runner-up in the same category at the 2016 Games in Rio de Janeiro.

Thai athletes have performed well in boccia at recent editions of the Games, with Pattaya Tadtong and Watcharaphon Vongsa standing out in particular. Both competitors won a total of three gold medals across the 2012 and 2016 Games, securing titles in both the mixed team and individual events.
