General Interest

Sri Lanka has sent a delegation of athletes to each edition of the Paralympic Games since the NPC made its debut in Atlanta in 1996.

Sri Lanka claimed its first Paralympic medal when Pradeep Sanjaya Uggl Dena Pathirannehelag finished third in the men's T46 400m at the 2012 Games in London. Dinesh Herath matched this performance at Rio 2016, winning bronze in the men's F46 javelin to double Sri Lanka's medal count at the Paralympic Games.

The NPC's most experienced Paralympians are wheelchair tennis player Upali Rajakaruna and powerlifter Sadun Perera. Both athletes have made three appearances at the Games.
