General Interest
Serbia won two medals on debut at the 2008 Paralympic Games in Beijing. Drazenko Mitrovic claimed silver in the men's F53-54 discus, while Borislava Peric Rankovic secured silver in the women's table tennis class 4 singles. Mitrovic won another silver in London four years later, finishing second in the men's F54/55/56 discus, while Peric Rankovic continued to improve with experience, repeating her silver medal in class 4 singles in London before claiming gold in the same event at Rio 2016. She also added a silver medal in the women's class 4-5 team event in Rio to take her total medal count to four, the most of any Serbian athlete at the Paralympic Games.
Other Serbian Paralympic gold medallists include Zeljko Dimitrijevic, who claimed gold in the men's F31/32/51 club throw at London 2012. He won his second Paralympic club throw title at Rio 2016 to become the NPC's first double Paralympic champion. Tanja Dragic claimed gold in the women's F12/13 javelin at the 2012 Games in London, while shooter Laslo Suranji was victorious in the men's R7 50m rifle 3 positions SH1 event at Rio 2016.
