Pakistan - Profile
General Interest
Pakistan first sent athletes to compete at the Paralympic Games in 1992, and has been represented at every Games since.
Most of Pakistan's representatives at the Paralympic Games have competed in athletics, and it was in this sport that the NPC claimed its first Paralympic medal. At the 2008 Games in Beijing, Haider Ali achieved a historic podium finish as he won silver in the men's F37/38 long jump.
At the 2016 Paralympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, Pakistan won its second Paralympic medal, which was also Ali's second Paralympic medal. This time it was bronze, after Ali finished third in the men's T37 long jump. Ali was the NPC's sole representative in 2016.
