General Interest
Nepal made its Paralympic debut at the 2004 Games in Athens, with Nirmala Gyawali competing in athletics in the women's F12 shot put. The NPC has appeared at every Paralympic Games since.
In 2016 Laxmi Kunwar became the first swimmer to represent Nepal at the Paralympic Games, when she competed in the women's S6 100m freestyle. Athletics competitor Bikram Rana was Nepal's other representative at the 2016 Games in Rio, and did not progress beyond the heats of the men's T11 100m.
