Mauritius sent its first delegation of athletes to the Paralympic Games in 1996. It did not appear at the 2000 Paralympic Games in Sydney, but has been represented at every Games since.
The NPC sent two athletes to Rio 2016. Swimmer Scody Victor competed in the men's S9 100m freestyle, while athletics competitor Brandy Perrine ranked 10th overall in the women's T54 100m.
