General Interest
Marco Schmit won Luxembourg's first Paralympic medal when he finished with bronze in the men's E1 100m in athletics at the Arnhem 1980 Games.
Schmit's medal was the only medal for the NPC in 1980, but it won six medals at the Stoke Mandeville/New York 1984 Games. There, Henri Kaude won Luxembourg's first Paralympic gold medal when he claimed victory in the C6 25m backstroke. Kaude also claimed silver medals in the C6 25m freestyle and the C6 50m freestyle.
Luxembourg did not send a team to the 2012 Games in London but returned to Paralympic action in 2016 with a team of three athletes.
