Five of Lithuania's six gold medals at the Paralympic Games have been won in athletics.
Malda Baumgarte won two gold medals at the Atlanta 1996 Games, in the F41 shot put and discus. Aldona Grigaliuniene also won gold in Atlanta, in the F34-37 long jump, and eight years later in Athens she claimed her second gold when she won the F37/38 shot put.
Five years ago the NPC won its first gold medal outside of athletics when the men's goalball team triumphed in Rio.
