General Interest
Three-time Paralympian Eay Simay won the Lao People's Democratic Republic's first and so far only medal at the Paralympic Games. He finished with the bronze medal in the 48kg division in powerlifting in Beijing in 2008. He finished fourth in the same event in London in 2012.
Pia Laophakdee kept the powerlifting tradition going at the Rio Games in 2016, finishing sixth in the men's 49kg event.
