Team Israel - Profile

Israel has competed at each edition of the Paralympic Games since 1960, and served as hosts in Tel Aviv in 1968. Zipora Rubin-Rosenbaum, who competed between 1964 and 1988, is among the NPC's most successful Paralympians. She won gold medals in athletics and wheelchair basketball, and also claimed podium finishes in swimming and table tennis.

Other Israeli athletes that have won medals in different sports at the Paralympic Games include Schlomo Pinto [swimming and wheelchair basketball], Ora Goldstein [swimming and athletics], Moshe Levy [swimming and wheelchair basketball], and Baruch Hagai [swimming, wheelchair basketball, and table tennis]. Swimmer Uri Bergman also won multiple Paralympic titles, claiming at least one gold medal at each edition of the Games between 1976 and 1988.

Israel's most recent gold medal came at the 2012 Games in London, where Noam Gershony won the quad singles mixed title in wheelchair tennis.

Israeli athletes claimed a total of three bronze medals at the 2016 Games in Rio de Janeiro. Moran Samuel ranked third in rowing, while there were also third-place finishes for shooter Doron Shaziri and swimmer Inbal Pezaro.
