General Interest

Indonesia first competed at the Paralympic Games in Toronto in 1976. Those Games, and the Games four years later, remain high points for the NPC, with it tallying six medals at each.

In 1976, Syarifuddin and Itria Dini won gold medals in lawn bowls and athletics, respectively. At the next Games four years later in Arnhem,lawn bowler Yan Soebiyanto and weightlifter R. S. Arlen grabbed won gold.

Indonesia won its first medal in 24 years at the London 2012 Games when table tennis player David Jacobs won a bronze medal in the men's singles class 10 event. Ni Nengah Widiasih won a powerlifting bronze in Rio de Janeiro in 2016, the NPC's only visit to the podium in Brazil.
