General Interest
Hungary won its first medal in 1972 at the NPC's debut Games, with Andras Fejes taking bronze in the 1A 60m wheelchair athletics event. The NPC's first gold medallist, Zoltan Tauber, won his medal in class E table tennis singles in 1976.
The vast majority of the NPC's gold medals have come in swimming. Attila Jeszenszky won all four of his gold medals at the 1984 Games. He triumphed in the men's L6 category 100m breaststroke, 100m butterfly and 200m individual medley, and the L1-L6 4x50m medley relay.
Swimmer Zsolt Vereczkei won a medal at seven consecutive editions of the Paralympic Games in the S5 50m backstroke. He claimed gold medals in the event in 1992, 1996 and 2000, and claimed bronze at the next four editions of the Games.
Hungary's sole gold medallist from Rio de Janeiro in 2016 was swimmer Tamas Toth, who claimed victory in the S9 100m backstroke.
