General Interest
Guatemala's two Paralympic medals were both won in weightlifting, one in 1976 and the other in 1988.
In 1976, JR de Leon won bronze in the featherweight category and twelve years later Jose Rolando became the NPC's first Paralympic champion as he won gold in the men's 57kg event.
At the 2016 Games, Oscar Armando Raxon Siquiej was Guatemala's sole representative. He finished 12th in the T11 1500m athletics event.
