General Interest
Fiji won its first Paralympic medal at the 2012 Games in London, when Iliesa Delana won gold in the men's T42 high jump. He did not participate at Rio in 2016 to defend his title.
Swimmer Willie Finau has come closest to claiming another medal for Fiji, finishing fifth and sixth in the 1B 25m breaststroke and 1B 25m backstroke, respectively, at the 1976 Paralympic Games in Toronto.
Fiji sent a delegation of two athletes to represent the NPC at the 2016 Games in Rio de Janeiro, but neither came close to repeating Delana's medal-winning success from four years earlier.
