Highlights:

Estonia has sent a delegation of athletes to each edition of the Paralympic Games since its debut appearance in 1992 in Barcelona. All of Estonia's 19 medals have come in either athletics or swimming. The NPC won medals at five consecutive Paralympic Games between 1992 and 2008, but none of its athletes have stood on the podium since.

The only Estonian dual Paralympic champion is Marge Korkjas, who swam to gold medals in the B2 50m and 100m freestyle events at the 1996 Games. In total, she won seven medals, including four silver and one bronze, between 1992 and 2004.

Korkjas' two gold medals in 1996 were part of Estonia's best performance at a single edition of the Games. In total, the NPC won three golds, with the other success in Atlanta coming from Annely Ojastu in the women's T42-46 100m athletics event.

Estonia's last Paralympic champion was Sirly Tiik, who won the women's F20 javelin title at the 2000 Games in Sydney. Since the 2000 Games, the NPC has won two medals - a silver in 2004 won by Korkjas and a swimming bronze medal won in 2008 by Kardo Ploomipuu.

Ploomipuu registered Estonia's best result in London in 2012, fourth in the men's S10 100m backstroke, and went on to represented the NPC at the 2016 Games in Rio De Janeiro. At those Games in Brazil, among the top Estonian performers was swimmer Elisabeth Egel, who finished fifth in the SM11 200m individual medley.
