General Interest
Costa Rica made its Paralympic debut at the 1992 Games in Barcelona. Since then, competitors representing the NPC have participated in cycling, swimming, athletics, and table tennis.
Athletes from Costa Rica are yet to win a medal at the Paralympic Games. Cyclist Dax Jaikel recorded one of the NPC's best results by placing eighth in the men's C4 time trial at London 2012, while 16-year-old swimmer Camila Haase also finished eighth in the women's SB8 100m breaststroke at the 2016 Games in Rio de Janeiro.
