General Interest

Austria has competed at every edition of the Paralympic Games, with athletics and table tennis proving strong sports for the NPC.

Austria won at least one gold medal in table tennis at every edition of the Games between 1960 and 1996. The NPC's most recent Paralympic champion in the sport was Andreas Vevera, who claimed the men's Class 1 singles titles in Beijing in 2008.

Athletics competitor Andrea Scherney won gold at three separate editions of the Games. She claimed victory in the F42/44/46 javelin in Atlanta in 1996, before claiming long jump gold in 2004 and 2008.

Austria won one gold medal at the 2016 Games. Equestrian athlete Pepo Puch claimed victory in the grade 1b dressage individual championship test.
