General Interest
Armenia has never won a Paralympic medal, but has sent a delegation to every edition since making its debut in 1996.
Armenia sent two athletes to compete in Rio de Janeiro in 2016. Greta Vardanyan finished fifth in the women's 55kg powerlifting event and swimmer Margarita Hovakimyan competed in the women's SB5 100m breaststroke, finishing 13th.
The highest finish for an athlete representing Armenia was Gagik Gasparian's fourth in the men's 82.5kg powerlifting event in 1996.
