NOMADIC LIFE
He has played professional volleyball in a number of countries, including Turkey, Italy, Poland, People's Republic of China, Russian Federation and Brazil, and says he has become accustomed to the life of a travelling athlete. "You're getting a complete fresh 15 guys that you don't know anything about and then you spend eight hours a day, every day, for eight months together. So it's kind of just, this is your family and then when you leave you find a new family. So it's kind of been my life since that first trip when I was 15. I come from a small town in British Columbia, Canada, of about 5000 people. Volleyball has allowed me to see the world and meet some incredible people that will be friends for life. I'm very grateful for the opportunities I've had and hopefully, I can continue to play for many more years to come." (ca.sports.yahoo.com, 09 Jan 2020; worldofvolley.com, 15 Jun 2019)

SISTER
His sister Alicia has also represented Canada in volleyball, but he says the siblings prefer not to talk about volleyball when they speak. "My sister also has big goals in volleyball and we live a very similar life chasing our dreams far from home. She's won the Peru championship twice in a row and I'm very proud of her. We don't often talk about volleyball. Of course, we follow each other and watch each other's games, but when we talk it's mostly about a different topic." (worldofvolley.com, 15 Jun 2019)
