Her husband Sergey Fesikov has represented the Russian Federation in swimming. He won bronze in the men's 4x100m freestyle relay at the 2012 Olympic Games in London and competed at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing. He also won gold medals in the men's 4x50m freestyle relay, the men's 4x50m medley relay and the 4x50m mixed medley relay at the 2019 European Short Course Championships in Glasgow, Scotland. In 2020 she suffered ligament and tendon damage in her shoulder but decided to refrain from surgery in order to compete at the Russian national championships in 2021, where she won a qualifying place for the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo. (rsport.ria.ru, 06 Apr 2021)

While doing a step test in training in early 2013, she broke the fifth metatarsal bone in her right foot which hampered her training and forced her to miss the 2013 World Championships in Barcelona, Spain. (sportbox.ru, 17 Nov 2013; rg.ru, 13 Nov 2013, 26 Feb 2013)

She aggravated an existing back injury at the 2009 World Championships in Rome, Italy and had to withdraw from the 2010 European Championships in Budapest, Hungary. Russian doctors at the time advised she quit the sport but she found a German doctor who altered her training regime and she returned to the pool in time to compete at the 2011 World Championships in Shanghai, People's Republic of China.
