She was originally involved in artistic gymnastics before her father encouraged her to start swimming. She tried both artistic gymnastics and swimming together for one year before she decided to focus fully on swimming. "My father, Vladimir, loved swimming during his childhood in Ukraine. Every time I jump into the water, I have a high motivation to improve my ability. I know I have a lot more to improve. I try to do my best in every workout, and when I come out of the pool feeling like I did, I am very satisfied." ADJUSTING TO FAME
After winning a gold medal at the 2018 Youth Olympic Games in Buenos Aires, Argentina, she had to adjust to the extra attention she received from the media. "The truth is I did not expect such a reception, but with the success came the recognition as well. You have to get used to it and the truth is I did enjoy it. BREAK AND RETURN
