General Interest

General
RETIREMENT PLANS
He initially planned to retire from rugby sevens in 2020 but decided to postpone his retirement plans due to the one-year postponement of the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. "With any sort of pinnacle event like that [Olympic Games] you reassess where you're at and you reassess the future. But you definitely want to be involved in it and I know all the guys here are really keen to be involved. The Olympics are the pinnacle of our sport. To be able to just compete in the Olympic Games is a huge honour, but to be able to go over and hopefully win a gold medal would be massive." (insidethegames.biz, 09 Jun 2020; olympics.com, 01 Nov 2018)

FURTHER EDUCATION
After he graduated with a bachelor's degree in exercise physiology from Massey University in New Zealand in 2009, he studied for a diploma in secondary teaching, science and physical education at the same university between 2010 and 2011. He is a trained science teacher. (LinkedIn profile, 01 Jan 2020; olympics.com, 01 Nov 2018)
