He began his coaching career as assistant coach of the Russian men's national rugby union team [15-a-side] from 2010 to 2011, and was head coach of the Russian men's sevens team between 2011 and 2013. From 2018 to 2019 he worked as defence coach for the Canadian men's national rugby union team [15-a-side]. He has also coached Emirati men's rugby union team Jebel Ali Dragons and was director of rugby at Kings Al Barsha School in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
