:
"Sevens was always something I looked at as I knew guys from Leinster who had been involved in the programme before. I was in the academy at Leinster at a similar time to Hugo Keenan so I was always aware of the opportunities. Anthony [Eddy] then showed a bit of interest in me coming in and my first experience in London [in 2019] was brilliant. I hadn't really experienced anything like it before, even just the scale of it, so that was brilliant and made me want more of it." (irishrugby.ie, 27 Feb 2020)

General Interest

General
RUGBY UNION AMBITION
He still harbours hopes of pursuing a career in rugby union [15-a-side] having previously played for Leinster, where he featured against Ospreys in the Pro14 United Championship in November 2018. He went on to make his rugby sevens debut for Ireland in May 2019. "I knew a lot of the lads who made the transition into the sevens game who were in those fullback or wing positions, like Billy [Dardis] and [Adam] Leavy. I kind of felt it would suit me and I would be able to bring across my skills. I still obviously love playing union. It's the sport I grew up playing but sevens is refreshing in how different it is and how it challenges you in different ways. I'd still love to play union in the future as well but right now I'm loving being in this [sevens] team." (irishrugby.ie, 27 Feb 2020)

EXPERIENCE IN FRANCE
He lived in France for two years as a child, where he also played rugby. "I remember my first day at Rugby Club Sablais without a word of French." He subsequently learned the language while his family lived there and became a fluent French speaker. (independent.ie, 19 Jan 2018)
