She began rowing after retiring from her previous sport of ski racing. "I started rowing in the summer of 2014 in Calgary. I moved back home from university and wasn't ready for 'real life' yet. I always had a fire in me to be an athlete and felt like my journey as an athlete wasn't over. After retiring from ski racing six years earlier, I felt like giving elite sport another go.
