He was head coach of the England and Great Britain women's teams between 2014 and 2018, with an interim role in 2015. He held the position of performance director of the England and Great Britain hockey programme from 2012 to 2016, and also served as head coach of both the England and Great Britain women's teams from 2005 to 2012. He was head coach of Canterbury Ladies club in England between 2001 and 2004 after a spell as coach of the England men's U18 team.
