INTERNATIONAL SWITCH
He gained 64 caps for Ireland before he declared his intention to represent England in 2012, and by extension Great Britain, in order to compete at more events such as the World Cup and Olympic Games. He served a three-year international exclusion period, during which time he coached at Nottingham University, before becoming eligible for England selection and making his debut in 2015. "It may seem a very selfish move but unfortunately competing at international level doesn't last too long in a player's life time and so to have more of an opportunity to compete at high level events [with England and Great Britain], would give me a sense of accomplishment in what I want to achieve in my short hockey career."
