General Interest

General
PLAYING ABROAD
In late 2018 she spent time playing hockey in New Zealand with North Harbour Hawks and in Australia with Canberra Strikers. "The southern hemisphere style of playing suited me and when you are the overseas player there is a little bit more pressure on you so it is important you do perform. I felt responsible in doing a good job to justify my inclusion in both teams." (irishtimes.com, 24 Oct 2019; the42.ie, 26 May 2019)

COLLEGE BREAK
In September 2018 she took a break for one semester from her economics degree at University College Dublin in Ireland to focus on her hockey career and play in Australia and New Zealand. She returned to complete her third-year exams in May 2019 and began her senior year in September 2019. (the42.ie, 26 May 2019; independent.ie, 22 Dec 2018)

CHARITY WORK
She is an ambassador for a charity called Team Hope Shoebox Appeal. The organisation sends gift-filled shoeboxes to children in Africa and Eastern Europe every Christmas. (irishtimes.com, 24 Oct 2019)

LIVING ABROAD
Born in England, she lived in Austria and the United States of America as a child. At age eight she moved to Ireland, the birthplace of her mother Scarlett. (irishtimes.com, 24 Oct 2019)
