NATIONAL TEAM RETURN
She was selected as a non-travelling reserve for the 2018 World Cup in London, England, where Ireland ended up winning silver. In October that year she suffered an anterior cruciate ligament [ACL] injury while playing Gaelic football for Clare in Ireland, which kept her out of all sport for a year. She did not play for the Irish national hockey team for about two years, but was part of the squad that were ranked sixth at the 2021 European Championships in Amstelveen, Netherlands. "It crossed my mind I might not get this chance again. You hope to come back, then come back fit but there was a new coach [for the Ireland national team] and you don't know if he sees something in you that he likes and values. When I did get the phone call from [coach] Sean [Dancer], it totally reenergised me." (irishtimes.com, 07 Jun 2021; irishexaminer.com, 20 May 2021; the42.ie, 06 Apr 2020)
