INTERNATIONAL SCORING RECORD
In January 2020 she scored her 185th international goal to become the all-time top goalscorer in international football across both men's and women's football. "It's a huge honour and an amazing accomplishment, but to be honest it was just a sigh of relief and a weight off my shoulders, because it was something that was coming for a number of years. It was ticking down, the goals were ticking away, and it was a sigh of relief, I'm not going to lie." (fifa.com, 18 Dec 2020)

PANDEMIC CHARITY WORK
In October 2020 she teamed up with the Canadian Women's Foundation to launch the ShowUpForGirls campaign to help raise funds for girls impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. The campaign raised over 300,000 USD in its first two months. "I'm a firm believer in fighting for youth and girls, specifically. This just made sense to me that in the midst of a global pandemic, girls are probably being impacted greatly. To help raise awareness to that and help raise some money to keep programmes alive and well that support girls, it's very important to me." (cbc.ca, 05 Oct 2020; Twitter profile, 06 Nov 2020)

CLUB CAREER
After graduating from the University of Portland in 2005, she began her club career at the Vancouver Whitecaps before she was selected eighth overall by US side FC Gold Pride in the 2008 Women's Professional Soccer [WPS] International Draft, ahead of the league's inaugural season in 2009. She played in WPS for three seasons, two with FC Gold Pride and one with Western New York Flash, before the league folded in 2012. When the National Women's Soccer League [NWSL] was formed in 2013 she was allocated to the Portland Thorns. She won NWSL championships with the team in 2013 and 2017.
